The last three days have been a string of appointments. Dentist, dermatologist, entrepreneurship seminar, client meeting, client call, allergy shot, dinner with mom, lunch with financial advisor, another client meeting. In between all of these have been the usual client projects, as well as moving back into the almost-finished bedroom and having a celebratory cocktail [...]

The sound of little hearts breaking

The last of the hatchlings is dead in its nest. One disappeared yesterday—I looked under the Russian Olive to see if it had fallen, but couldn’t find it anywhere. I assume it fell out of the nest and succumbed to a predator, or one of the neighborhood hawks or owls plucked it right from the [...]

Vengeance

This snake picked the wrong nest for picking off baby birds. Alas, he had killed one before I came to the rescue with a broom and used one of Mr. D’s old weights to ensure he wouldn’t go back for more. The two other hatchlings appear to be OK. Share on Facebook

The baby cardinals have been born! At first they looked like no more than a wriggling bit of fuzz at the bottom of the nest. Then Mama Bird returned for a bit. She blocked my view of them, and would look over her shoulder if I so much as twitched behind the window. Amazing what [...]

Kitchen Renovations

The Husband Unit is cooking dinner this evening, and wondered where the hell we’d put hanging basket that holds the onions. Good thing I remembered they’re in the cedar closet, hanging next to my summer clothes. Share on Facebook

Random notes about my current life

1. I just finished watching Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along Blog. 2. Barry took a meeting with someone from the Indy at the Pinhook about media stuff, probly had dinner somewhere and then went to Bill A.’s poker game. I stayed home, ate leftovers and read about drupal themes until my eyes glazed over and I turned [...]
