In this article by Maureen Dowd, she lists earmarks that John McCain is opposing in the latest spending bill. His objections include this line item:
$650,000 for beaver management in North Carolina and Mississippi.
Perhaps beavers are more manageable in Arizona, but we’ve had issues with unruly beavers right here in our neighborhood. It was through our encouragement that Durham County now participates in the statewide Beaver Management Program.
Perhaps we need to invite Senator McCain to the 5th Annual Beaver Queen Pageant so he can see, first-hand, how well beavers behave when given a little encouragement.

Probably the best blog title ever!
My first thought was…”don’t we all”? and then I thought, no…Europeans like them un-managed, Californians like them very tightly managed and Brazilians want them eradicated completely.
I guess different cultures have different views of the environment, eh?
