What a way to spend a weekend

March 9th, 2008 · No Comments

I started out with the intention of setting up so I could work onĀ  a Wordpress blog locally, and ending up ratholing into attempting to set up a PHP/MySQL testing server on Dreamweaver for a site I maintain for a non-profit org. I’ve successfully installed MAMP, and finally figured out how to download and install the database locally. But the php pages are still not seeing the database, so I don’t know what the heck I’m doing wrong. Could be that I don’t have the database files in the right place, or I have it configured incorrectly in Dreamweaver–I’m not even sure if I should be using the user name and password I use for the database on the server, or the user name and password I set up when I installed MAMP.

If you understood that last paragraph, and have a clue what I’m doing wrong, let me know!
