Despite my best efforts—which are actually pretty pathetic since I have zero self-discipline first thing in the morning—I continue to breeze past my desired 6:30am wake-up time and sleep until 7:30am. And then I’m wide awake at 9:30pm and stay up reading Harry Potter or watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer reruns until 10:30pm.
I’ve decided that there is a simple solution: from now on, I’m living on Central Time. I’m actually perfectly disciplined if I imagine myself to be living in Chicago.

Excellent! Better to call a dog by the name it answers to, than to use the one you gave it and never have it come.
In a similar way, I live on West Coast time but do it on the East Coast. But I’m trying to shift that to Mountain Time.

That means you’re a member of the Central Standard Tribe.

In a way I’m still living on west coast time–nobody in Silicon Valley gets to work before 9:30am.
Except for the hardware engineers. They get in at 6:00am. Weirdos.

Roger, You have TWO blogs now?
Then again, Phil has two…I think Joe has 2 or 3…I’m clearly behind the time(s) in more ways than one!
And I’m so glad I clicked on your link…I had no idea that this weekend was the time change.

The energy savings issue w.r.t DST changes is definitely bogus: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070403-the-daylight-savings-change-no-savings-no-point.html
