The water’s fine.

The temp is cool on first touch, but you can get acclimated in no time–and for the folks coming in from the north or the chilly Pacific, it will seem absolutely balmy. The surf is gentle, not great for body surfing but good for swimming, and you don’t have to worry that you’ll get your face smashed into the sand if you turn your back on the ocean. When the waves are just about to break, you can see schools of fish silhouetted against the sun. I’m happy to report, though, that the predatory fish seem to congregate on the other side of the pier, about a mile away.
